Qualifications:

Required:

  • Graduate from an accredited school or university
  • At least 2 years nursing experience in Med/Surg
  • Completion of all orientation requirements of Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center

Preferred:

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • Active NJ RN License or Multistate RN License with NJ Endorsement
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Per Diem
  • 2 - 12.5 hour shifts per month, both shifts on weekend (Weekends defined as Friday, 7 p.m. to Monday 7a.m)
  • 1 - 12.5 hour Summer Holiday (Easter, July 4th, Labor Day)
  • 1 - 12.5 hour Winter Holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
  • Scheduling will vary depending on department need

Essential Functions:
The Registered Nurse (RN) organizes and administers individualized age-specific professional care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital in support of medical care. Supports philosophy, objectives and the mission and vision of Saint Barnabas Medical Center and the Department of Nursing. Practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, Department of Health Regulations, TJC requirements and other regulatory agencies. Participates in patient teaching and discharge planning. Participates in unit Performance Improvement evaluation activities.
