Job Description:

PURPOSE:

Responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services by sourcing, negotiating with, and managing supplier relationships, all while optimizing costs, quality and delivery times.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This role is responsible for purchasing and negotiating favorable terms for price, quality, and delivery while building and maintaining strong relationships with both new and existing vendors. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Enter purchase orders, verify order information, track order confirmation, monitor open orders, expedite, follow-up with suppliers, monitor supplier performance and maintain ERP system data integrity.
  • Collaborates with planning, accounts payable, logistics department and requesters to align procurement activities with business goals and production schedules.
  • Ensures that materials and services are purchased at a reasonable cost, within budget, and delivered on time.
  • Analyze procured planned MRP production demands, safety stocks, indirect buys.
  • Achieve cost savings by issuing RFQ's, comparing and evaluating offers, negotiating contract terms and pricing.
  • Monitor supplier commit dates to ensure these are aligned with manufacturing need dates and expedited parts as needed.
  • Interface with Accounting for any invoice-related transactions or problems.
  • Coordinate purchasing activities to maintain inventory safety stock.
  • Confirm delivery information and availability of materials.
  • Interface with suppliers to expedite shortage or identify risks before they happen.
  • Communicate schedule risk to planners and applicable stakeholders.
  • Manage return orders to suppliers.
  • Eliminate root causes of availability issues.
  • Onboarding Suppliers and verifying documents.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in related fields such as Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance or Engineering is desired.
  • APICS application and certification(s) or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems including Oracle and procurement software required.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and deliver results with aggressive timelines
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both suppliers and internal customers.
  • Data management skills, including Excel a plus.
  • Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
