Registered Nurse - Long Term Care (Geriatric)

A-Team Solutions is seeking registered nurses for full time contract positions at the VA Community Living Center Houston, TX. Coverage is needed for day and night shift.

* Provider must have an active, unrestricted license to practice nursing in any State, Territory or Commonwealth of the US.

. Must have graduated from an accredited ACEN or CCNE school of nursing

* Must have BLS through the AHA

* Must have a clear background to clear government credentialing

* RN will spend 95% of time in direct patient care and 5% for administrative tasks

* The long-term care nurse shall be responsible for patient ADLs (activities of daily living), assessments, medication administration, IV therapy, and interdisciplinary team coordination, admissions, and discharges, internal and external transfers, delegating to assistive personnel, electronic medical record documentation, patient transport, and emergency response procedures.

* Approximate care ratio is 1 RN to 20 residents (with team that includes LPNs and NAs, so ratio is 5-6)

* Serves as a resource to other staff in meeting individualized learning and discharge needs, recommends appropriate referrals, adaptive equipment and approved educational materials.
