We are seeking a Production Supervisor to lead 2nd Shift frame production operations at our Green Bay facility. This role is responsible for supervising shop personnel, meeting daily production schedules, and maintaining consistent standards for safety, quality, and efficiency. This is a hands-on leadership position with regular shop-floor involvement.
The Production Supervisor works closely with the Production Manager to plan labor, address production issues, and support continuous improvement efforts. The successful candidate will be a steady, fair, and practical leader who can direct work, solve problems, and communicate clearly in a manufacturing environment.
Position Overview
The Production Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day execution of 2nd Shift production activities. This includes assigning work, monitoring progress, removing barriers to production, and ensuring employees understand expectations. The supervisor serves as the primary point of leadership on the floor during 2nd Shift.
Safety & Quality
Safety and quality are core responsibilities of this role. The Production Supervisor ensures employees follow all OSHA, EHS, and company safety requirements and that quality standards are consistently met.
Responsibilities include:
- Reinforcing safe work practices and proper use of PPE.
- Identifying and correcting unsafe conditions or behaviors.
- Participating in incident and injury investigations.
- Monitoring product quality across fabrication, welding, and paint operations.
- Ensuring employees understand and meet product specifications.
- Supporting standard operating procedures, inspections, and corrective actions.
Production & Scheduling
The Production Supervisor is responsible for executing the daily production schedule and keeping operations on track throughout the shift. This includes planning labor assignments, coordinating materials and resources, and responding to issues as they arise.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assigning labor based on production needs.
- Monitoring production performance and reporting status to management.
- Identifying and resolving bottlenecks and process issues.
- Reducing scrap and material waste.
- Supporting Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement efforts.
Team Leadership
This position provides direct supervision to production employees and supports a respectful, professional work environment. The supervisor provides guidance, coaching, and performance feedback and addresses attendance, performance, or conduct issues as needed.
Responsibilities include:
- Supervising and directing production employees on 2nd Shift.
- Supporting hiring, onboarding, and training of employees.
- Coaching employees and supporting skill development and cross-training.
- Enforcing work rules and company policies consistently and fairly.
Qualifications
- Prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading teams of 15 or more employees preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly with employees and management.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree preferred, or an associate/technical degree with 5-10 years of related manufacturing experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Work Schedule & Environment
This is an onsite, 2nd Shift position requiring regular and reliable attendance. The role involves daily shop-floor activity in a manufacturing environment, including standing, walking, lifting, and working around industrial equipment. PPE is required, and exposure to noise, temperature changes, dust, and other typical manufacturing conditions should be expected.
