Key Responsibilities
Quality Strategy & Governance
  • Own the supplier QA/QC framework for engineered equipment (rotating/static, electrical, instrumentation, packaged systems); align with ISO and internal QMS procedures.
  • Translate owner requirements (design basis, performance, regulatory, SMI standards) into clear vendor quality requirements and contract quality exhibits.
  • Develop and approve supply chain equipment suppliers, supplier quality plans, ITPs, critical quality characteristics (CQCs), and hold/witness points.
Supplier Qualification & Surveillance
  • Qualify new and periodically audit suppliers/sub-suppliers; assess capability, special processes, personnel qualifications, calibration control, and document management.
  • Plan and execute risk-based surveillance (shop visits, stage inspections, pre-inspection meetings, FAT/SAT oversight).
  • Coordinate third-party inspection agencies (TPIs); ensure inspection scope, instructions, and reporting cadence are clear and enforced.
Project QA/QC Execution
  • Review and approve vendor quality documentation: WPS/PQR/WPQ, NDE procedures, coating/PWHT procedures, electrical test plans, FAT procedures, and MDR indexes.
  • Oversee execution of ITPs including material receiving/traceability, dimensional checks, special processes (welding, heat treatment, coatings, machining), electrical tests, performance tests, and preservation/packing.
  • Manage NCRs, concessions, and waivers; lead root cause analysis and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Drive closure and acceptance of Manufacturer's Data Records (MDRs)/Data Books and turnover dossiers (including CoC/MTRs, calibration certs, test reports, as-built drawings, nameplate data).
  • Support interface management with Engineering, EPCs, and owners, punch lists, and readiness for shipment/installation.
Compliance & Standards
  • Ensure adherence to applicable codes/standards (e.g., ASME, API, ANSI, IEC/UL/NEMA, NEC/NFPA, ATEX/IECEx, NACE/AMPP, AWS D1.1/D1.6, ISO/IEC).
  • Confirm regulatory and customer-specific requirements (e.g., PED/CE, CRN, OSHA, state/local AHJ requirements) are accounted for.
Continuous Improvement & Reporting
  • Establish supplier performance KPIs (quality escapes, on-time ITP stages, first-pass yield, NCR closure time).
  • Lead lessons learned
  • Develop training, standard work procedures, and templates (ITP, QP, inspection checklists, MDR index, FAT protocol) for consistency and scalability.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Materials) or related technical discipline; equivalent experience considered.
  • 8+ years in QA/QC for engineered equipment (e.g., pumps, compressors, switchgear/MCCs, transformers, packaged skids, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, instrumentation systems).
  • Hands-on experience with supplier quality, ITP development, welding/NDE oversight, FAT/SAT, and data book compilation.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 QMS and audit practices; strong understanding of API/ASME/IEC/UL/NEMA/NFPA codes.
  • Demonstrated success leading NCR/RCCA and preventing recurrence (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, FMEAs).
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, P&IDs, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, data sheets, and specifications.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management, including contractors, TPIs, and OEMs.
