Legal Billing Specialist (Hybrid) - Kansas City Metro (Confidential Client) Our client in the Kansas City metro is hiring an experienced Legal Billing Specialist to support a busy, fast-moving billing team. This is a hybrid role (two days/week in office) and is ideal for someone who's detail-driven, client-focused, and comfortable owning deadlines. What you'll do Review and edit pre-bills for accuracy and compliance (rates, client guidelines, exceptions) Generate and distribute monthly invoices (print/email/e-bill) on time Manage narrative edits, time/cost adjustments, and third-party expense back-up (receipts, documentation) Submit LEDES invoices through e-billing hubs/portals (e.g., Tymetrix/Serengeti and similar) Partner with attorneys/timekeepers to monitor unbilled time, AR, and billing status Respond to billing questions from internal teams and clients (totals, payment status, matter history) Maintain organized billing files/e-files and support audits/inquiries Assist with collections support and escalate deductions or issues when needed Produce reports and support special billing requests/projects as assigned What we're looking for 2-5 years of legal billing experience (law firm required) Strong working knowledge of complex billing guidelines and e-billing workflows Elite 3E experience strongly preferred Advanced Excel skills (reporting, reconciliation, tracking) Clear communicator with a high sense of urgency, accuracy, and service mindset High school diploma required (additional education a plus) Why this role Hybrid schedule in the KC metro Strong benefits package (medical/dental/vision, 401(k) with Safe Harbor contribution, generous PTO, disability/life, FSA, EAP, commuter benefits, plus optional coverages) If interested, please email your resume to corey.jackson@hunterhamilton.com Seniority Level Associate Industry Legal Services Employment Type Full-time Job Functions Accounting/Auditing Finance Skills Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) Accounts Payable (AP) Spreadsheets Analytical Skills Financial Reporting Accounts Receivable (AR) English Legal About Us Hunter Hamilton is a high-performance professional search firm specializing connecting finance, HR, operations, and legal talent with leading employers.
