DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will provide non-professional nursing care to the residents at Southwestern Veterans' Center on an as needed basis. This will involve participating in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss treatment plans and the development of individualized interventions and methods. You will assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, and getting in and out of bed. Some of your duties will include applying safety devices and medications, distributing meals and water, and transporting residents. As an aide, you will record all care and services performed for residents, as well as maintaining positive working relationships with your fellow staff members. Additionally, you will maintain and improve your skills by attending training programs. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment, 75 hours biweekly
- Work hours are on a compressed schedule, six 12.5-hour shifts, 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM, rotating days, with a 30-minute lunch. You will be required to work every other weekend.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or
- Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.
- This position is assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility and requires active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Previous long term care experience
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
