OVERVIEW

The No. 1 Pipefitter is responsible for the installation, connection, maintenance and repair of all metal pipe and pipe equipment within an industrial facility including welds on steel and other related metals using stick/mig methods.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Performs complicated industrial installation, connection, maintenance and repair of pipe lines and plumbing fixtures
  • Plans major and difficult installations from blueprints, sketches and specifications
  • Duties include laying out piping and calculating take offs and pipefitting measurements
  • Completes welds on steel, stainless steel and other related metals using stick/mig methods
  • Performs all jobs in accordance with established safety practices and sanitation standards



WORK EXPERIENCES



  • A minimum of 3 years of industrial experience in pipe fabrication and welding, including pipefitting and layouts.



EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS



  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.



ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)



  • Ability to lay out piping jobs and calculate take offs and pipefitting measurements
  • Ability to perform welding of steel, iron or alloy including Stick, Tig, Mig methods
  • Ability to determine material for piping layouts from blue prints and field dimensions
  • Knowledge of cutting, threading, welding and fitting all types of pipes and fittings
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
  • Work independently as well as a team player
  • Must have ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Must be physically able to perform job duties including but not limited to:





    1. Lifting up to 50lbs.
    2. Working in confined spaces
    3. Climb up and down ladders
    4. Reaching, pulling, manipulating materials and tools frequently
    5. Kneeling, crouching, stooping, crawling, and climbing constantly through shift





HOURLY RATE:



  • Starting Rate: $35.32.
  • Paid vacation and sick time after probation period.
