What You Will Do:

OurCentral Florida Construction Practiceis looking for aCEI Sr. Inspector - FDOT - forthe Construction Management and Construction Engineering Inspection group in the Orlando, FL area. This Position will work in the Central Florida Area.

What you'll be challenged to do:

This is an excellent career opportunity for anexperienced candidatewith aminimum of 4 years' professional experiencein CEI Roadway & Bridge Construction, transportation facilities, and/or infrastructure, to join a collaborative team environment. The role highlights a customer-focused mindset and a passion for delivering exceptional quality and results on every project. This role inspects and oversees CEI construction work to ensure that results, procedures and materials comply with plans and specifications. This role will serve as a daily point of contact with clients and contractors and manage all aspects of a road & bridge construction including construction observations, material testing and maintaining documentation.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Measure distances to verify accuracy of dimensions of structural and MEP installations and layouts.
  • Work with and assign tasks to inspectors on a daily basis.
  • Verify levels, alignment, and elevation of installations.
  • Prepare samples of materials for laboratory testing.
  • Examine workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standard and approves installation.
  • Interpret plans and specifications for Contractor and discuss deviations from specified construction procedures to ensure compliance with regulations governing construction.
  • Record quantities of materials received or used during specified periods, develop pay estimates and change orders.
  • Maintain daily log of construction and inspection activities and compare progress reports.
  • Monitor several types of work activity.
  • Maintain construction safety practices and work methods for compliance
  • Manage documents using electronic platforms such as e-Builder, or Procore
Education | Experience:

  • High school diploma.
  • 4+ years progressive CEI experience in roadway or bridge
  • A safety-first mindset.
  • Strong writing, listening and communication skills.
  • CTQP Final Estimates Level I
  • CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level I
  • CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level II (Bridges)
  • CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I
  • CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level II
  • CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I
  • CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level II
  • CTQP Pile Driving Inspection
  • CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection o Required for inspection of all drilled shafts including miscellaneous structures such as sign structures, lighting structures, and traffic signal structure foundations
  • FDOT Intermediate MOT
  • IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I
  • Nuclear Radiation Safety
  • Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors A-19 Recommended when the scope of the project includes concrete pavement, grinding concrete pavement, or concrete pavement slab replacement.
  • Courses are available from the Transportation Curriculum Coordination Council (TC3).
  • PCC Paving Inspection (TC3CN004-15-T1)
  • Diamond Grinding and Grooving (TC3MN009-15-T1)

Employment Status: Full-Time

Salary: $79,000 - $85,000 ($38 - $40 / hour)

GFT does require the successful completion of a criminal background check for all advertised positions.
