Description
The Supply Chain Manager (SCM) for is responsible for optimizing supply chain efficiency and effectiveness to meet customer demands in a changing environment. The position will execute strategic international and domestic supply chain strategies that focus on customer centric delivery on time with controlled inventory. It will oversee plant production planning to ensure due dates are met while optimizing resources and will lead the demand planning, production order variance (POV) warehousing, materials ordering, inventory management. The Supply Chain Manager is the key interface with Aurorium commercial and customers supplied by the site.

Job Details

Role Specific Responsibilities:

  • Leadssite supply chain processes for production planning, shipping/receivingand materials ordering



  • Leadsthe monthly Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning processes for Zeeland ensuring supply risks areescalated and actioned appropriatelyat the earliest opportunity



  • Identifiesconcerns, and opportunities from the site SIOP process through to the Global SIOP monthly review andlead and drive efforts to developthe long-rangestrategicplan for site



  • Leadsthe master production scheduling (MPS) process, partnering with Operation, Maintenance and Engineering Managers to develop plans enabling all functions to perform activities and meet customer requirements while optimizing resources



  • Workswith thesiteteamand Corporate Supply Chain to ensure capacity plans arein syncwith longer term customer demand plans provided by SIOP



  • Ensuresproduction plans are enabled by managing raw material and packaging requirements and dealing with shortages to minimize impact on plant and customer



  • Preparesand present KPI inputin toSMR, weekly commercial meetings and weekly absorption tracker



  • EnsuresBill of Materials provided by Process Engineers are accurately documented on SAP



  • DrivesInventory reduction for raw materials, inter-mediates,andfinished goods to meet site objectives



  • Leadsthe ABC cycle count program, investigating discrepancies to drive improvements



  • Createsaction plans to controlSLOB(Slow Moving, Obsolete)inventory to achieve site targets



  • Collaborateswith purchasing and other departments with continuity plans for raw materials andidentifyand develop cost savings and efficiency improvement projects



  • Workswith commercialization team ensuring internal and external communication on delivery performance, contribute with communication and support quality,projectsand cost recovery actions



  • Undertakes other duties as may be required by Vertellus Managementas necessary

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor'sDegreein Business Administration,Supply Chain Management ora related field



  • Certification by APICS (CPIM) preferred



  • 3 yearsminimumexperience in SCM roles or supporting planning processes in a chemical, food or similar manufacturing plant is preferred



  • Minimum 3 years leadership experienceis preferred



  • Experience using MRP/ERP systems, experience with SAPrequired



  • Chemical industry experience preferred



  • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated knowledge of statistical analysis anddemonstratedability tomonitorcomplex data over a historicalperiod of time



  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of basic production processes and knowledge of sales and operations planning process



  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs and priorities



  • Strong working knowledge using Excel (pivot tables, report generation,data-mining)



  • Must be able to develop written instructions and provide verbal instructions on processes



  • Strong process improvement and project management skills



  • Strong verbal/non-verbal communication/writtenand presentation skills



  • Commercially minded, forward thinking, pro-active and ability to understand trade-offs



  • Timely andaccuratewith data and reporting



  • Be able to work independently as well as be a strong participant on team projects
