Overview
The Work Tool Specialist serves as the strategic liaison between Blanchard Machinery sales teams, Caterpillar Work Tool representatives, and allied vendors driving alignment on work tool inventory, compatibility, and work tool strategy. This role manages work tool inventory, including stocking levels by branch location, surplus disposal strategy, attachment compatibility, nomenclature, and availability. This position will lead continuous improvement initiatives for both Caterpillar and nonCat work tools. Responsibilities

- Leads organizational strategy for work tools (attachments) by engaging internal sales teams, Caterpillar, and allied vendors to deliver accurate availability, leadtime, compatibility and pricing information.
- Manages min/max inventory levels by location in partnership with the sales team to ensure optimal stocking strategies. Purchases, trades and disposes of tool inventory as necessary.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with Caterpillar and allied vendor representatives through a consistent communication cadence supporting mutual goals.
- Analyzes aged inventory and drives internal, Caterpillar, and dealer awareness and actions to reduce aged and excess inventory.
- Evaluates attachment pipeline to ensure alignment with machine inventory and machine arrivals.
- Advises the sales team on work tool resources, including Cat Price Pages and compatibility guides.
- Informs internal personnel on new or updated work tools and communicate nomenclature compatibility changes.
- Assists with work tool logistics, to include tracking estimated delivery dates, branch transfers, and reservation reviews.
- Manages dealers to dealers work tool trades and searches within the CAT Dealer network to support customer needs.
- Leads inventory accuracy efforts in partnership with yard coordinators, sales operations and sales teams to reduce write-offers, ensure work tools are properly transferred off and on machines, manage estimate-report reversals, and manage non-stocking attachment inventory ordered for specific deals.
- Represents Blanchard as the Work Tool Dealer Advisory Representative.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate or Bachelor's in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of inventory, supply chain, or product experience preferred, ideally construction equipment industry.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills across internal teams and external partners.
- Ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to travel to Blanchard branch locations and attend out-of-town meetings as needed.
- High attention to detail, teamwork, and a customer-centric approach.
- Understanding of demand planning and strong analytical skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
- Must possess a valid Driver's License with less than three moving violations in the past three years.
Working Conditions
- The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
- Required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to injury and/or hazardous materials.
- Requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting.
- Must be able to fit varied weights up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to sit and utilize a laptop/PC for extensive periods of time.
