Overview

What You Will Do

As a Purchasing Coordinator, you will be responsible for critically assessing suppliers, products, and services, and negotiating the best possible deals.

A Typical Day at Prime Controls

    Researching and comparing suppliers, goods, and services
  • Selecting the most suitable suppliers in terms of reliability, product quality, availability of goods, and cost-efficiency
  • Requesting cost proposals per project
  • Preparing and processing purchase orders
  • Maintaining records of all transactions, purchase orders, vendor confirmation, part numbers, pricing, quantities, delivery, delays and offered substitutes.
  • Scheduling and verifying purchase deliveries.
  • Building and maintaining positive, long-term supplier relationships
  • Verifies purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to the master list and recommends alternatives.
  • Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price, while obtaining recommendations from suppliers
  • Secures approval from PM team department(s).
  • Manages purchases by forwarding orders to suppliers, monitoring and following up with vendors to confirm orders have been processed, providing order acknowledgment with pricing, part numbers, delivery location and lead times to the requesting PM team.
  • Keeps information accessible by sorting and filing documents.
  • Updates knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Accomplishes Procurement and organization mission by completing related results, as needed

What You Will Bring

The Basic

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of purchasing-related experience
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong organization and documentation skills
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Displays a team player attitude and strong work ethic.

The Preferred

  • Degree in business administration, procurement, or a related field
  • 2 years of purchasing-related experience
  • Proficiency in CRM and inventory management software programs
