Primary Function

Reporting to the Group Director, the Base Services Supervisor leads all operations service activities. Develops and implements plans, programs, and policies for operation and oversight of cleaning and furniture and supply services, grounds, fitness, recreation, and leisure functions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the supervision and execution of cleaning and furniture supply services.
  • Oversee the receiving, delivery, storage, and inventory of all materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Manage warehouse operations at on-site and off-site storage areas.
  • Conduct, plan, and organize warehouse spaces based on utilization, weight and space restrictions as required.
  • Perform periodic inventories of materials and coordinate resupply if critical materials become low in stock.
  • Develop and implement policies, and priorities; identify resource needs; recommend and implement policies and procedures.
  • Select, train, and evaluate assigned personnel; work with employees to correct deficiencies.
  • Direct, coordinate, and review work plans; meet with staff to identify and resolve problems; assign work activities and projects; monitor workflow; review and evaluate work products, methods, and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for improving service delivery methods and procedures; review with appropriate management staff; implement improvements.
  • Highly organized and able to manage time effectively.
  • Ability to read and understand contract requirements pertaining to work performed.
  • Strong oral and written communications and interpersonal skills.

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in personnel management, prior base services experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of personnel utilization, education and training methods, equal opportunity, human relations, and training.
  • Experience working with diverse cultures and various trade skills in an austere, hazardous environment is preferred.
  • Proven verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, coach, and supervise a team.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and make effective decisions.

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions

  • Physical requirements may include lifting to 35 lbs., team lifting 50 lbs., climbing, extended sitting and standing, walking, stooping, stretching, or bending.
  • Individuals must be able to sit and concentrate for extended periods.
  • Ability to live and work in harsh climatic and austere conditions, including the potential for moderate to extreme physical danger.
