Responsibilities

The Monitor Technician is responsible for continuous observation, interpretation, and documentation of cardiac rhythms for patients on telemetry monitoring. This role supports patient safety by promptly identifying and communicating changes in cardiac status to licensed nursing staff and clinical leaders.


Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School (or GED equivalent) diploma.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and basic electrophysiology.

  • Ability to accurately interpret cardiac rhythms and identify arrhythmias.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to remain focused during prolonged monitoring.

  • Effective verbal communication skills, particularly in urgent or emergent situations.

  • Basic computer skills and the ability to navigate electronic medical records and monitoring systems.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Monitor Technician, Telemetry Technician, or similar role.

  • Experience in an acute care hospital or telemetry unit

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
