Description

Markon is seeking an Expert-Level Continuity of Operations (COOP) Planner to serve as a full-time Business Process Consultant supporting continuity planning, coordination, and advisory services across the customer organization. The ideal candidate will bring demonstrated COOP experience from within any component of the customer enterprise and will provide strategic guidance to ensure mission-essential functions can be sustained during emergencies or disruptions.

This position is based in Chantilly, VA, with regular travel to organizational facilities and field sites.



Responsibilities

The COOP Expert will function as a planner, coordinator, and trusted advisor, with responsibilities including:

    Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of Continuity of Operations (COOP) plans and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate COOP activities across multiple facilities and operational environments, including headquarters and field locations.
  • Advise organizational leadership on continuity preparedness, operational resilience, and business process continuity.
  • Support the identification and prioritization of mission-essential functions and continuity requirements.
  • Facilitate COOP training, exercises, and readiness activities to validate plans and ensure organizational compliance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the customer organization to integrate COOP planning into broader business processes.
  • Conduct site visits and provide continuity planning support at distributed locations and field sites.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for COOP-related policies, procedures, and best practices.


Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
  • 10+ years of experience supporting Continuity of Operations (COOP) planning and execution.
  • Prior COOP experience within any part of the customer organization strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a planner, coordinator, and advisor to leadership and operational teams.
  • Strong understanding of business process continuity, emergency preparedness, and operational resilience frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across diverse organizational levels.
  • Travel required to organizational facilities and field sites as part of continuity planning support.


Salary Range

USD $180,000.00 - USD $205,000.00 /Yr.

The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
