Bakery Training Technician - Omaha, NE or Des Moines, IA

OVERVIEW

General Mills is seeking a Bakery Training Technician to work on the In-Store Fresh team supporting Walmart bakeries. This is a field based role with 50-60% travel where you will provide hands on product training in both one-on-one and seminar settings to Walmart Bakery associates.

Candidates must live in either the Omaha, NE or Des Moines, IA areas or be willing to self-relocate for this role.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

In this role you will:

• Develop & deliver strategic training and demonstrations to drive in-store knowledge and ability in Walmart bakeries
• Develop and maintain excellent relationships with in-store and management and associates
• Maintain optimum territory coverage patterns by training stores on a prescribed time-(goal of 36 hours weekly in store) & frequency while maintaining updated and accurate records
• Effectively conduct hands on product training for bakery associates in a seminar type setting both large and small while working as a team with other suppliers
• Additional duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma
• 1-3 years' previous experience within a bakery; 3-5 years baking, donut and cake decorating experience in a teaching setting
• Technical baking, donut and cake decorating skills required
• Ability to train small groups
• Ability to work in a home office environment and travel 50-60% (company car provided)
• Self-managed and results oriented
• Flexible and able to manage adversity
• Strong communication and influence skills
• Strong PC/iPad skills including, but not limited to: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneDrive

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds while using the appropriate lifting techniques and safety rules

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Culinary or Bakery training or bachelor's degree
