Air Liquide Large Industries provides our customers with industrial gas and energy solutions that are vital to their own industrial production. We own and operate over 2,000 miles of industrial gas pipelines in the U.S. supplying mainly oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and syngas in large quantities from multiple production sources to major customers in the chemicals, petrochemicals, refining and steel industries. Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are closely monitored 24/7 within our leading-edge operations control center located in Houston, Texas. Our operations control group monitors over 89,000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination. We are constantly optimizing our supply network to provide high reliability and energy efficiencies allowing Air Liquide to adjust supply needs more quickly and effectively enabling growth to our customers.

  • Execute scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) on a variety of industrial equipment, including pumps, compressors, valves, motors, piping systems, and instrumentation.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to identify root causes of failures and implement effective repairs.
  • Perform corrective maintenance on equipment, including disassembling, repairing, replacing, and reassembling components.
  • Conduct predictive maintenance activities such as vibration analysis, thermography, and lubrication analysis to anticipate potential failures.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and operating manuals to facilitate maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to document work orders, record maintenance history, and manage spare parts inventory.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and hot work permits.
  • Collaborate with production operators, engineers, and other maintenance personnel to coordinate maintenance activities and improve equipment reliability.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations to prevent recurrence of equipment failures.
  • Assist in the installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of new equipment and systems.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Be available for on-call duties and extended shifts as required to support 24/7 plant operations.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician in an industrial manufacturing or processing environment (e.g., chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, power generation).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with proven experience in maintaining and repairing rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines), static equipment (vessels, heat exchangers), and piping systems.
  • Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, including experience with motors, motor controls, PLCs, VFDs, and industrial instrumentation (transmitters, sensors, control valves).
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience with CMMS software (e.g., SAP, Maximo) is highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding of industrial safety practices and procedures (e.g., LOTO, confined space, hot work, fall protection).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, work at heights, and in confined spaces.
  • Valid driver's license required.

  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in repairing, installing, and maintaining production machinery, including, but not limited to, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. Skills in welding (MIG, TIG, or arc), CNC machinery, and HVAC are highly desirable.
  • Troubleshooting & Repairs: Ability to diagnose complex problems, replace/repair parts, and perform machine alignments independently.
  • Preventive Maintenance (PM): Expertise in conducting scheduled PM, inspecting machinery, and implementing predictive maintenance techniques to minimize downtime.
  • Systems & Tools: Proficiency in using hand/power tools, electric meters, and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Safety & Compliance: Strict adherence to safety regulations (OSHA, lockout/tagout) and ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Leadership & Soft Skills: Ability to work with minimal supervision, provide guidance to lower-level technicians, and manage, prioritize, and document maintenance tasks.
  • Physical Requirements: Capability to lift up to 75 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in confined spaces or at heights.
