Salary Statement

Estimated Starting Salary Range: USD $87,000.00/Yr. - USD $144,900.00/Yr. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.


Description

    Designing, developing, testing, and overseeing the manufacture and installation of electrical equipment, components, and systems that support DoD communication networks and related missioncritical platforms
  • Applying electricalengineering theory and bestpractice design methods to create solutions for commercial, industrial, military, and scientific applications
  • Collaborating with system architects, program managers, and field technicians to ensure that all deliverables meet performance, reliability, and compliance requirements while adhering to DoD specifications and safety standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a closely related engineering discipline (no degree substitutions permitted for this level)
  • Active DoD top secret (or higher) clearance
  • Minimum threeyears of fulltime professional engineering experience, including at least oneyear directly performing design, development, testing, or supervision of electrical systems for DoD communication networks or related infrastructure
  • Possession of a PE (Professional Engineer) license is preferred but not mandatory; any relevant industry certifications (e.g., IEC, IEEE, or DoDspecific training) are a plus
  • Ability to independently execute the full engineering lifecycle (concept, design, prototype, test, and field installation) for electrical hardware used in defense communication environments


Desired Skills

  • Strong knowledge of power electronics, signal integrity, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and highfrequency circuit design
  • Experience with industry design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics, Cadence, or similar PCB/EDA software)
  • Familiarity with DoD engineering standards and specifications (MILSTD810, MILSTD461, etc.) and ability to produce required documentation (drawings, test plans, test reports)
  • Handson testing expertise using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and environmental test chambers
  • Proven ability to coordinate with manufacturing partners and oversee production runs, ensuring quality control and conformance to design intent
  • Effective written and oral communication skills for drafting technical reports, presenting design reviews, and interfacing with program stakeholders
  • Ability to work autonomously while collaborating within multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of projectmanagement fundamentals (schedule tracking, risk identification) is advantageous

SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TOP SECRET LEVEL WITH TOP SECRET / SCI ELIGIBILITY



Travel Requirements

  • Domestic travel: Up to 10% of the year (twoweeks) for site visits, prototype testing, installation support, or coordination with DoD facilities and subcontractors
  • International travel: Rare, typically <5% of the year, only when required for overseas system integration or acceptance testing and subject to clearance approval
  • Work setting: Primarily office/labbased at the contractor's primary location; occasional onsite presence at test ranges, manufacturing plants, or field installations as dictated by project needs
