In this role, you will be fully embedded within our innovative AI Lab, joining a collaborative team that is pioneering the future of healthcare technology. Your role, mentorship, and day-to-day responsibilities will be centered within the AI Lab, giving you a home base in our central innovation hub. This unique position, while aligned with a key business Value Stream, provides a broader perspective on how advanced AI is applied across the organization to solve real-world challenges.

You will gain exposure to these functional areas:

  • Generative AI Application Development
  • Agentic AI Systems and Frameworks
  • Full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • DevOps, Collaboration, and Project Tracking
  • API and Service Integration
Specific responsibilities:
  • Develop, test, and deploy Generative AI applications and prototypes using the Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with a focus on Vertex AI.
  • Build and refine AI agents and AI-powered solutions using Gemini Enterprise and the Python-based Agent Development Kit (ADK).
  • Collaborate with the AI Lab team on the full software development lifecycle, from conceptualization and design to implementation and testing.
  • Manage source code, track project progress, and facilitate team collaboration using GitLab for version control as well as Jira and Confluence.
  • Design and integrate services and applications using OpenAPI standards and GCP integration connectors to ensure robust and scalable solutions.
What skills you willlearn:
  • Active participation in the strategic development process for AI solutions, including developing goals, objectives, and processes.
  • How to engage professionally in a fast-paced, collaborative technology environment.
  • Gain hands-on experience with enterprise-grade development and collaboration tools (GitLab, Jira, Confluence).
  • Application of modern software development practices within a corporate framework, including robust, scalable solution design.
Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong programming skills, with proficiency in Python.
  • General knowledge of software development practices and version control.
  • Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

Optional Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its AI/ML services (like Vertex AI).
  • Familiarity with project management and documentation tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Understanding of API design principles and standards, such as REST and OpenAPI.
  • Understanding of communication protocols such as A2A and MCP.
  • An interest in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and especially Generative AI, through projects, coursework, or self-study.

An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs and affordability.

This job is also eligible for variable pay.
