Electrical and Computer Engineering

Job Description

The Lightwave Technology Laboratory (LTL) in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Missouri S&T is seeking a part-time Labratory Assistant. This position is designed to provide early research exposure to a motivated high-school student who will support day-to-day laboratory activities in a supervised environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with basic laboratory preparation and housekeeping
  • Support simple experimental setups under direct supervision
  • Perform routine tasks such as organizing equipment, labeling materials, and data entry
  • Follow all laboratory safety procedures and training requirements
  • Other related tasks as assigned by supervising research staff
Preferred Qualifications

  • Must meet UM System HR-116 minor employment requirements
  • Strong interest in science, engineering, or technology
  • Reliability, attention to detail, and willingness to learn
  • Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a supervised lab environment
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $15.50 hourly.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
