Security Officer - Unarmed Full Time

As a Security Officer - Mobile Patrol Rounds in Newport News, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will control access, observe for unusual activity, document findings, and communicate clearly with site leaders and team members. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at an industrial location.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of production areas, warehouses, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or property damage.
• Monitor and respond to alarms, calls for service, and unusual conditions in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
• Control access through gates, doors, and/or visitor check-in points by verifying identification, logging entries and exits, and directing deliveries and contractors to appropriate areas.
• Document patrols, incidents, and daily activity in written reports, and communicate observations to on-site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
