Job Summary

The PRN / Pool CT Technologist performs advanced computed tomography imaging procedures under the direction of a radiologist, producing high-quality diagnostic images across multiple body planes for neonatal, pediatric, and adult patient populations. This role leverages the full capabilities of CT imaging equipment and associated technologies to support accurate and timely diagnostic interpretation.

The PRN / Pool CT Technologist maintains a high standard of patient safety, comfort, and care while supporting departmental coverage needs. This position plays a critical role in optimizing patient flow and examination throughput across assigned shifts, ensuring imaging services are delivered efficiently without compromising image quality or the patient experience within Grady Health System.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform CT imaging procedures for inpatient and outpatient populations

  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images in accordance with established protocols

  • Ensure patient safety, comfort, and appropriate care throughout imaging procedures

  • Utilize CT scanners and related imaging technologies effectively

  • Support efficient patient flow and study throughput during assigned PRN shifts

  • Complete accurate clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory and departmental standards

  • Maintain compliance with licensure, certification, and continuing education requirements

Qualifications Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Associate's Degree from an approved school of Radiologic Technology

  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Registered Technologist

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required

  • ARRT-CT certification within six (6) months of hire, if applicable

  • Must remain a member in good standing with the ARRT or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) by maintaining required continuing education credits and completing annual license renewal

ARRT-CT Eligibility Pathways (Applicants May Be):

a. Enrolled in an approved ARRT institution with an accredited Computed Tomography (CT) program
b. A recent graduate of an approved ARRT institution with an accredited Computed Tomography (CT) program and eligible for ARRT-CT certification
c. An experienced Registered Technologist eligible for ARRT-CT certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists

Preferred Qualifications
  • Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
