Maternal and Child Health Program in the Institute for Human Development at the University of Missouri-Kansas City

Job Description

This position will coordinate support functions for the IHD Maternal and Child Health Program to ensure that program goals and objectives are achieved in accordance with established priorities, time constraints, funding limitations, and other specifications. This role has four primary components: communication, project monitoring, coordinating meetings, and providing logistical support. Supervision of student workers may be required as needed to support program functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • This position will coordinate support functions for the IHD Maternal and Child Health Program to ensure that program goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, funding limitations, or other specifications.
  • Conduct interviews, focus groups, and other data collection activities.
  • Transcribe interviews and focus group recordings, code the transcriptions, develop codebooks, and prepare dissemination materials, including reports and infographics.
  • Prepare letters, emails, social media, and content for infographics, flyers, PPTs, or newsletters.
  • Coordination and collaboration with the IHD Information Dissemination Team
  • Point of contact among employees, partners, and other external stakeholders
  • Coordinate the development and dissemination of reports of the Maternal and Child Health Program (routing for content reviews, formatting, proofreading, printing, and distribution)
  • Develop and monitor project management processes, including the use of tools (e.g., software or applications) to manage large, complex, and multi-user projects.
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings and events for the Maternal and Child Health Program
  • Prepare and distribute meeting minutes and notes for the Maternal and Child Health Program
  • Provide support to the administrative team, which may include but is not limited to data entry, filing, and other activities as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

NOTE: This position is 100% grant funded and is contingent on continued funding.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of Qualitative research experience
  • Prior experience working in the maternal and child health field
  • Prior experience working in communities and families
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), and MS Project.
  • Qualtrics and/or RedCap
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience writing in a professional capacity
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $23.07 to $25.00 hourly.
Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
