Position Summary
IT manager position within Student Information Systems is highly experienced and provides technical management and leadership for the implementation enhancement and support of the Connect UGA Banner student system that includes components for Admissions, Student, Student Financial Aid, Bursar / Accounts Receivables, and other modules as needed. This position leads and manages the application developers that provide application development, maintenance, and support services to the Office of the Registrar, Bursars Office, Student Financial Aid, as well as the office of Undergraduate Admissions.

Duties/Responsibilities
Manage and facilitate the technical planning, development, integration, and implementation of application development services for Student Application Services ( SAS) team within Student Information Services ( SIS) under the direction of the Associate CIO for Student Information and Services.

  • Provide technical and managerial leadership for application development services for the SAS team.
  • Provide technical oversight and enhancement of the Banner student system that includes new and existing integration and components for Student, Curriculum, Admissions, Student Financial Aid, and Bursars Accounts Receivables and other modules as required.
  • Cultivate effective working relationships between SaaS vendors, IT, and client community. Recommend technologies and propose solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with functional offices and key stakeholders on IT projects and prioritization processes utilizing appropriate project management techniques.
  • Provide technical leadership and planning to support Strategic and Operational plans for SIS.
  • Develop innovative enhancements to improve customer experience and self-service.
  • Identify and develop necessary skills that support integration and configuration of SaaS applications.

Duties/Responsibilities
Provide leadership and oversight to SIS application development and integration projects and application system operations.

  • Lead efforts to research and identify tools that support integration and configuration of SaaS applications to understand APIs, data structures, and integration capabilities.
  • Interview and consult with clients; gather data. Provide system design services to clients; scope is not limited to individual department needs, but to enterprise-wide needs.
  • Define, develop, and implement applications systems for computing needs that reflect client requests or approved projects.
  • Direct, supervise, and coordinate efforts of application analysts and programmers in planning, designing, testing, documenting and installing information systems and SaaS solutions.
  • Review completed projects for accuracy and adherence to established standards, security.
  • Guide the team in acquiring technical expertise for applicable programming languages, APIs, and integration capabilities.
  • Be on call for critical/core systems/application support 24/7. The duties and responsibilities of this position require home or off campus internet service as a job requirement.

Manages and oversees solution management approval workflows, software development lifecycle ( SDLC) processes, and SaaS solutions and integrations within SIS. (30%)

  • Provide leadership of the to improve SLDC processes by maintain secure operations performance, automation, and gathering/reporting relevant metrics.
  • Ensures security and audit processes and procedures follows all policies and guidelines from UGA, BOR, State and Federal entities.
  • Monitor the performance of integrated systems and SaaS solutions to confirm they work cohesively to meet business objectives.
  • Oversee SIS solution request approval workflow and deployment systems for code approval, delivery, and audit compliance.
