$119,587 - $126,926 DOE
Work Days: 210 days per year

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
In alignment with the NWRESD's mission statement, this position assists the school principal in directing and managing the instructional program as well as assisting in the supervision of operations and personnel at the campus and program level. This position assists the Principal in providing leadership, supervision, and evaluation of the instructional program for the school.
The Assistant Principal works to foster a positive, inclusive learning climate in the school by
ensuring the systematic improvement and evaluation of instructional programs that respond to
student, school, community, and District needs. The role contributes to an effective, comprehensive,

District-wide integrated educational and student development program by
directing the development and effective implementation of applicable program elements at the
site and program level, and ensuring a fluid experience for students and parents throughout
their varied transitions.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully,an individual must be able to perform each
essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge,
skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with

1. Valid Oregon TSPC Administrative License or ability to obtain license within timeline specified by district.
2. Master's Degree in Education Leadership, Special Education, or School Administration
3. Minimum three years of experience leading evidence-based Tier 3 social-emotional or behavioral support practices (e.g., district behavior support teams, specialized classrooms, and/or special school programs) preferred.
4. Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and culturally responsive practices.
5. Extensive knowledge and experience with leading and implementing school attendance interventions, Functional Behavior Assessments, and Behavior Support Plans.
6. Extensive knowledge and experience leading Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), instructional leadership, and coaching and modeling effective instructional strategies.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

1. Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.
2. Ability to exhibit professionalism and effective human relations.
3. Confer regularly with immediate supervisor.
4. Proficiency in the use of educational technology and digital tools, including Google Workspace (G Suite) and emerging tools such as educational AI platforms, for communication, data analysis, and instructional or systems-level support.
5. Experience supporting evidence-based instructional, behavioral, and social-emotional

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Include the following. Performs some or all of the
following tasks. Other duties may be assigned . The duties listed below are not inclusive,
but characteristic of the type and level of work assigned for this position.

A. Support the Principal in the implementation and monitoring of instructional programs, including culturally sustaining instruction and SEL-aligned practices.
B. Assist with coordination of MTSS initiatives, including behavior support planning, attendance interventions, and re-engagement strategies.
C. Support supervision, evaluation, and professional growth of assigned staff in alignment with district evaluation systems and instructional priorities.
D. Assist in facilitating professional learning communities and staff development activities.
E. Collaborate with LEAs, community agencies, and internal departments to support coordinated student services and smooth program transitions.
F. Assist the Principal with data collection, monitoring, and reporting related to instructional effectiveness, student outcomes, and program improvement.
G. Manage a variety of school administrative functions (e.g. student disciplinary policy, school schedule, assigned personnel, etc.) for enforcing school, District, and state policy and maintaining safety and effi ciency of school operations.
H. Evaluate assigned personnel to ensure that standards are achieved and performance is maximized.

I. Facilitate the development, communication, implementation, and evaluation of staff and students for enhancing excellence, equality, and cooperation toward the achievement of a quality learning environment for staff and students.
J. Implement policies, procedures, and directives for providing direction and complying with mandated requirements.
K. Intervene in occurrences of inappropriate behavior of students for assisting students in modifying such behavior and developing successful interpersonal skills.
L. Monitor communication between personnel, students, and parents to ensure a high degree of professionalism among the school's stakeholders.
M. Prepare a wide variety of information (e.g. quantity reports, student activities, correspondence, audits, etc.) for documenting activities, providing written reference, and conveying information.
N. Present information (e.g. budget overviews, accounting processes, distribution formulas, etc.) for communicating information, gaining feedback, and ensuring adherence to established internal controls.
O. Chair a wide variety of meetings (e.g. curriculum, safety, site advisory, faculty, etc.) for coordinating activities and ensuring that outcomes meet school, District, and state goals, policies, and regulatory requirements.
P. Represent the school in a variety of settings (e.g. community forms, parent-teacher organizations, etc.) for maintaining ongoing community support for educational goals and assisting with issues related to the school environment.
Q. Research a wide variety of topics (e.g. policies, best practices, trends, legislation, etc.) for ensuring compliance with established requirements, securing general information for planning, acting, and responding to requests.
R. Respond to inquiries from a wide variety of stakeholders (e.g. principal, parents, students, staff, etc.) for identifying relevant issues and recommending or implementing action plans.
S. Supervise school personnel, including: monitoring performance, providing for professional growth, and achieving the overall objectives of the school's curriculum.
T. Support the principal in a variety of ways (e.g. policy implementation, meeting facilitation etc.) for ensuring the smooth operation of administration.
U. Perform other job duties as assigned.
