What is the opportunity? Physical safety and security are critical to protecting RBC employees, clients, assets, and operations from threats. The Senior Manager, US Region Physical Security is responsible for executing and operationalizing the regional physical security strategy under the direction of the Director, US Region CPSO. This role ensures alignment with RBC's risk appetite, regulatory requirements, and enterprise security policies while driving day-to-day program delivery. What will you do?
Implement and maintain physical security programs (e.g., Travel Risk, High-Risk Individual Protection, Incident Management) in alignment with the regional strategy. Ensure compliance with RBC policies, standards, and regulatory requirements for physical security. Collaborate with stakeholders (e.g., Lines of Business, Cyber/Fraud teams) to integrate security practices. Oversee security operations, including threat monitoring, incident response, and access control. Manage metrics and reporting to demonstrate program effectiveness and compliance. Support the Director in adapting security practices to evolving work environments (e.g., hybrid/remote). Program Execution: Lead the delivery of regional physical security initiatives, ensuring alignment with the Director's strategic vision. Operational Leadership: Manage day-to-day security operations, including vendor relationships, incident response, and training programs. Risk Mitigation: Identify and address physical security risks through control design, assessments, and process improvements. Stakeholder Engagement: Provide subject matter expertise to internal teams and third parties on security protocols. Team Management: Supervise a team of security professionals, fostering collaboration and performance excellence. Executive Protection Support: Coordinate and oversee security measures for executive protection events and functions as required. Incident Management Response: Lead or support the response to security incidents in the region, ensuring timely containment, resolution, and reporting. Maintain in-depth awareness and understanding of current and emerging trends in Physical Security to inform strategy. Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on security to ensure compliance and adherence to RBC policy, and standards and regulatory requirements regionally to stakeholders (LOB's, Customers 2nd/3rd lines of defense teams) Responsible to drive the integration/collaboration of the Physical Security Protection program with enterprise risk and threat management functions (Cyber/Fraud/CIS etc.) Support the execution of regional security programs (Travel Risk, High Risk Individual Protection, Security/Safety Incident Management & Response, Identity & Access Management, Threat Intelligence, and Third Party) and enhances operational processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness. Ensures security procedures/process are reviewed, current and sustainable. Establish security awareness and training to promote and embed appropriate physical security behavior across the organization and to its clients. Monitor metrics to ensure program effectiveness, compliance against standards and deliver reporting to provide ongoing assurance to senior and executive management.
What do you need to succeed? Must have: Knowledge/Experience
10+ years of experience in physical security, risk management, or related fields (e.g., law enforcement, military, corporate security) Strong understanding of security technologies (access systems, surveillance, IoT) and operational processes. Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, budgets, and cross-functional teams. Experience in incident response, threat assessment, and compliance frameworks. Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., banking/financial sector security standards)

The expected salary range for this particular position is $120,000-$200,000, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs. You have the potential to earn more through RBC's discretionary variable compensation program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
