Senior Quality Assurance Technician Summary

The Senior Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for supporting and implementing aspects the Quality Management System (QMS) through compilation of data, generation of reports, updating of databases, and working closely with internal cross functional groups (Manufacturing, Technical, Commercial).

Senior Quality Technician Primary Responsibilities

    • Perform product quality inspections of finished goods.
    • Review and prepare product release and certification records for operational processes.
    • Prepare and track status of product concession requests.
    • Prepare quotes, coordinate, and compile chemistry reports for lab service requests.
    • Manage gauge calibration program, including coordination of 3rd party activity required for calibration and routine maintenance of gauges (i.e. scales).
    • Manage internal audit schedule of all assigned auditors and conduct internal quality audits, per established schedule.
    • Enter and track audit findings - internal and external. Conduct verification audits on sustainability of corrective actions.
    • Supports quality orientation of new hires and continued quality training, as appropriate.
    • Assists in development of training content and skills matrices.
    • Ensure new procedures/work instructions are linked to training matrices.
    • Administers program for certified product inspectors (i.e. stamp holders).
    • Prepare, track status, and maintain training records for all departments.
    • Prepare and publish quality alerts.
    • Support and provide feedback for procedure/work instruction review.
    • Act as back up for document control admin - modifying procedures/work instructions, tracking approvals and publishing approved documents.
    • Participate and lead Quality GEMBA walks, identifying areas of improvement.
    • Participate in root cause corrective action investigations.
    • Participate in Quality Audits as required.
    • Support and prepare quality system survey responses for customers.
    • Administer pFMEA reviews.
    • Track supplier certification status, as applicable.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Education and experience - Required

    Two-year Technical Degree, or in lieu of a degree, High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent with 7+ years of experience in a Quality Assurance, Training, or Auditing role in a manufacturing environment.

    Skills/Competencies

    • Demonstrates advanced knowledge within their scope of the Quality Management System; demonstrates subject matter expertise within their Sr. QA Tech responsibilities.
    • High degree of computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.).
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Basic math skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills, maintain a positive attitude and work to maintain positive relationships with co-workers and others outside the organization.
    • Ability to set goals and objectives and takes responsibility to achieve these in a timely manner.
    • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent troubleshooting skills
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with personnel at all organizational levels.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    Office: Must be able to frequently remain in a stationary position. Must be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Occasionally required to perform work in a manufacturing setting, occasional exposure to high noise level and heat.
