Overview

Our ENERCON Nuclear Services Group is seeking a 3D Designer to join the team. In this role, you will provide meaningful impact in the world of engineering from preparing design drawings to providing mentorship to other team members. This role can be located in one of the following locations:

  • Kennesaw, GA (Suburb of Atlanta)
  • Fort Worth, TX
  • Naperville, IL (Suburb of Chicago)

Responsibilities

Each day in this role offers the opportunity to shape innovative designs, creating detailed, precision-driven drawings created from advanced 3D models that bring complex engineering concepts to life. By collaborating with engineers, mentoring others, and ensuring the highest standards of quality, you play a crucial part in delivering impactful solutions that drive success and safety across projects.

  • Create 3D Models for the purpose of generating 2D drawings
  • Create and modify general arrangements
  • Create and modify piping othrographic layouts
  • Create and modify piping isometric drawings
  • Create and modify P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams)
  • Support engineers with any changes to drawings
  • Understand and follow all organizational, area/departmental, and client procedures, safety policies, and directives
  • Conduct self-checks of created models, drawings, sketches, and related data to proactively identify factors that may negatively affect final product
  • May review the work of other designers/drafters and provide mentoring and leadership
  • Meet applied time goals set for position/discipline
  • Work independently of engineers but confer with engineers and other designers for design concept interpretation #LI-SH7

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree with minimum 6 years of experience, HS 10+, or Bachelor's Degree in related field with minimum 2 years of design experience
  • Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software programs
  • Advanced knowledge of design software, such as AutoCAD or MicroStation
  • Advanced knowledge of SmartPlant and Plant3D
  • Navisworks experience is preferred
  • Knowledge in the practices of an engineering discipline; competent in the fundamental concepts of other disciplines as they relate to the assigned discipline
  • Previous experience working with 3D scans to define new project scopes
  • Selects hardware and materials as required by the project, with guidance from engineers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of codes, standards, criteria, and design execution pertinent to various aspects of design
  • Ability to travel for walkdowns as required and ability to get badged (on an as needed basis)
  • Works in a multidisciplinary team

Salary Range

The salary range for this full-time position is below. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.


Pay Range

USD $65,000.00 - USD $110,000.00 /Yr.

When salary range is listed it reflects typical compensation for this role based on level and location. Actual pay depends on experience, skills, and education.
