Description

Provides leadership and direction to the Administration Department within a mid-sized commercial air carrier. Designs and executes plans to support operations in accordance with the instructions of the Chief Operations Officer (COO). Maintains broad knowledge in the various highly regulated industries within which the organization operates, including the relevant staffing and other regulatory requirements and standard practices. Manages all support functions and entities including human resources in an organized labor environment, business support services, facilities and ground vehicle fleet management. Ensures subordinates understand organizational strategic goals, operations plan to meet the goals, and the administrative support required to execute the operations plan. Maintains awareness of government, commercial, labor, and other environmental factors which may impact the ability of the support functions to provide support, and plans to address, mitigate, or capitalize on such factors as appropriate. Responsible for all Administrative planning and execution supporting commercial operations.

Job Functions:



  • Maintain all organization Administrative Policies and Procedures, in compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate guidelines.
  • Oversee all Human Resource functions including collective bargaining, hiring, discharges, compensation, benefits administration, performance management, employee complaints and investigations, and the federally regulated human reliability program (substance abuse testing) for an organization of over 250 employees.
  • Ensure the timely and appropriate provision of all Business Support Services including but not limited to licensing, supplies, shipping and receiving, vendor accounts, office machines, phone coverage, public access control, badging and identification, etc.
  • Manage multiple facilities locally and in different States, to include acquisition through purchase or leasing, management of vendor services such as cleaning and maintenance, and leadership of organic facilities management personnel.
  • Manage the ground vehicle fleet including acquisitions, configuration, allocation, and maintenance.
  • Mitigate organizational risk through the management of the highly diversified corporate insurance portfolio, including coverages required to protect company interests while providing commercial aviation transportation, and operations under federal contracts.
  • Manage corporate interactions with outside legal counsel as required, including the administration of agreements and facilitating legal actions.
  • Provide compliance support to operations Departments as required, including the conduct of internal audits, interpretation of regulatory language, and dispute resolution.

Education & Experience:

Required



  • Education: Undergraduate degree in Business, Aviation, or another directly relevant field.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years working in Administration, or one or more of the business support functional areas referenced above (HR, Facilities, Fleet Management, Compliance, Risk Management, etc.)
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft office: Word, Excel and Power Point



Preferred



  • Professional Licensure/Certifications: Advance degree and/or professional certifications in Business, Aviation, or another directly relevant field.
  • Experience: More than five years working in Administration, or one or more of the functional areas referenced above (HR, Facilities, Fleet Management, Compliance, etc.)
