Armed Security Officer - Experience Required

International Protective Service, Inc. (IPS), an Allied Universal Company, is hiring an Armed Security Officer - Experience Required. The Armed Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of the facilities they protect. Our Armed Security Officers allow us to accomplish our company's core purpose which is "to service, secure and care for the people and businesses in our communities." Armed Security Officers act as a visible deterrent to crime and client rule infractions; they detect and report suspicious, unsafe or criminal acts at or near their assigned posts which may be a threat to the property, clients, guests or employees at the site.

This role requires an active state armed guard license.

Pays $24.00 per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide high quality security services, safeguarding personnel, property, and information
• Conduct patrols within and around the facility on foot, bicycle, or vehicle to ensure the protection of people, assets, and sensitive or classified information
• Preserve order and enforces rules, regulations, and directives for the viability of the site
• Maintains proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices and weapons.
• Greet guests and employees, assisting where appropriate; escort visitors and contractors, secure ingress and egress points, secure classified information
• Follow site-specific performance manuals and post orders, reporting safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances via written and verbal communication; interact with client and/or other security personnel regarding order execution when appropriate
• Respond to and assesses security alarms or emergency alarms; act as a first responder in emergency situations and provide first aid as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

• High school diploma or equivalent
• An active armed security guard license in the state of New Mexico. State licensing boards denotes an armed license in New Mexico to be deemed a level 3 security guard license. All licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations.
• Valid driver's license if driving a company or customer owned vehicle
• Minimum one (1) year armed security, law enforcement, or military experience
• Prior security or related protective service experience
• Minimum of 21 years of age (or higher if required by the state)
• Excellent oral and written interpersonal communication skills; able to articulate and write clear and concise incident or situation reports; able to effectively convey information to the public, client representatives, and fellow employees
• Able to complete all range qualifications and functions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

• Associate's degree or higher in Criminal Justice or protective service related field
• Law enforcement experience
• Military experience
• Three (3) or more years of experience as an armed security professional
