Your role

As a Systems Assembly Tech II, your mission is to assemble various vacuum systems to meet customer requirements using provided documentation and schematics. This includes complete systems, sub-components, and controls. Key tasks involve layout, assembly, wiring, testing, and preparation for shipment, extending to off-site installations. You will report to the Production Planning Manager.

Your role includes:



  • Assembling vacuum systems and non-standard pump configurations as per provided specifications and drawings.
  • Assembly involves bolting, drilling, tapping, screwing, and cleaning, along with wiring control panels and components.
  • Mechanical and electrical assembly skills are required.
  • Testing and leak checking of all components to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Responsible for assembly integrity and zero defect quality.
  • Complete work assignments timely while meeting Leybold quality standards.
  • Ability to use electrical test equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Attend Hazard Communications training and comply with safety programs.
  • Assemble systems off-site with minimal supervision while following safety protocols.
  • Main contributor to 6S culture in the shop area.
  • Ability to assemble various systems for different industries and applications.

  • A two-year technical degree or high school diploma is desired.
  • Three years in industrial mechanical/electro-mechanical assembly or repair and one year as Systems Assembly desired.
  • Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools needed.
  • Must read assembly drawings, understand electrical wiring, and use measuring devices like micrometers.
  • Teamwork and ability to lift up to 40 pounds required.
  • Experience in 6S and Lean Manufacturing preferred. Computer skills and willingness to travel up to 20% are a plus.
