JOB SUMMARY The Yard Coordinator is responsible for providing front line leadership in the daily yard functions related to safety and quality. The Yard Coordinator will also perform dispatch, load adjustments possible load build duties utilizing the Transportation Management System, and provide backup support in the absence of the Terminal Supervisor. Compliance, accountability, and leadership will be the key focus for the Yard Coordinator to ensure all policies and procedures are being followed by our driving associates and third party carriers. In the event not all of these courses have been completed prior to becoming a Yard Coordinator, they must be completed within the first year of this assignment.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS* Valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License with air brakes experience required. Must enter the company with and maintain a one year DOT Medical Certificate. Must hold and maintain an active TWIC card. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the associate is regularly required to driver; sit in a truck cab for extended periods of time; hear; use hands or fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The associate is required to be frequently standing; walking' climbing or balancing; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; and tasting or smelling. Associates must frequently lift 501bs and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Finally, anyone filling this position must be able to pass all DOT physical requirements for truck drivers. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential responsibilities of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The associate is frequently exposed to extreme heat (above 90 degrees Fahrenheit). The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
