Chapman and Cutler LLP is seeking to hire a Senior Client Rates Analyst to join the Financial Management Department. The Senior Client Rates Analyst provides support and counsel on pricing and the financial aspects of individual client engagements to Firm attorneys and personnel. The Senior Client Rates Analyst can work out of either the Chicago or New York office; Chicago residency strongly preferred. The position requires an in-office presence but includes flexibility for some remote work.

The responsibilities of the Senior Client Rates Analyst will include:

  • Summarizes the financial impact of existing rate arrangements; develops and recommends revisions as agreements are renewed
  • Supports updates and revisions to existing rate arrangements, implements and applies finalized agreements, and ensures rates and other key matter data are properly assigned
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for assigning clients rates for new matters
  • Responsible for set up of all new timekeepers in Aderant, including rates and target hours
  • Coordinates and executes the annual rate renewal process for clients, including performing matriculation and executing promotions annually, documenting client agreements, adhering to client deadlines and storing all relevant communications
  • Oversees all aspects of rate structures in Aderant; acts as the subject matter expert on all rate-related topics and tasks at the Firm
  • Coordinates with the Client Account Manager on e-billing rate submissions and supports development of the e-billing upload files for rate submissions
  • Works directly with attorneys to develop rate proposals and supports business development on requests for proposals and pitches
  • Develops and documents the annual rate renewal process; makes recommendations for software solutions that can improve process efficiency
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required to meet Firm goals and objectives

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field; advanced degree in related fields a plus
  • At least three (3) years of prior experience in a data analysis and/or pricing and fee negotiations preferred
  • Preference given to those with prior law firm or professional services experience
  • Strong technical skills, including the ability to develop complex Microsoft Excel models and use advanced Excel functions
  • Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of management and across administrative groups
  • Excellent organizational and analytical abilities
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated judgment and discretion in working with sensitive information and confidential matters
  • Committed to following all Firm policies and information security protocols

In accordance with the state pay transparency laws, the expected salary range for this position is between $120,000 - $145,000. The benefits overview for this position is available for review at the below link.
