Job Title: HVAC/Lab -Maintenance Technician

Duration: 12 months + Possible extension

Location: 9701 Old Statesville Road, Charlotte, NC 28269

Shift: Various (discussed at interview)

Payrate: $24-$28/hr. on W2 (without benefits)

Screening Questions:

  • Do you have experience with HVAC systems, commercial chillers, VFDs, or boilers?

  • Loop control.
  • Medium voltage systems.
  • Calibration.
  • Loop tuning.
  • VFD/boiler/valve configurations.
  • LOTO procedures.
  • Are you available for an onsite interview in Charlotte, NC?
  • Do you have any forklift/overhead crane experience?


Job Summary:

  • Hiring Engineering Laboratory Technicians to support testing and operation of water- and air-cooled commercial chillers. This is a hands-on role focused on equipment setup, testing, troubleshooting, and lab support within an engineering environment.


Set-Up / Tear-Down Technician (Entry-Mid level):

  • Set up and tear down large water-cooled chillers.
  • Connect and troubleshoot basic electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration systems.
  • Operate and maintain lab test equipment under general supervision.
  • HS Diploma/GED required; 3+ yrs. experience with hand/pneumatic tools.
  • Lift up to 35 lbs.
  • HVAC, EPA, VFDs, instrumentation, forklift/overhead crane experience preferred.


Engineering Lab Support Technician (Mid-Level):

  • Mid-level role, supports engineering testing of chillers.
  • Operates, inspects, and maintains test setups and lab equipment.
  • Troubleshoots electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration systems.
  • Works under moderate supervision.
  • HS Diploma/GED required; 3+ yrs. mechanical/electrical experience.
  • Lift up to 35 lbs.
  • HVAC, instrumentation setup, pumps, VFDs, boilers, EPA certification preferred.


Staff Run Technician - Senior Level:

  • Senior-level role, responsible for independently running and executing chiller tests.
  • Operates water- and air-cooled labs; calibrates instruments, performs loop tuning, VFD/boiler/valve configurations.
  • Leads test execution, mentors team, ensures lab safety and uptime.
  • HS Diploma/GED or technical certification; 5+ yrs. HVAC/chiller or lab experience.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • EPA certification, loop control, medium voltage experience, LOTO preferred.
