Position Summary
The Senior Occupational Therapist (OT) practices within the scope of care defined by the Georgia Occupational Therapy Act, delivering advanced occupational therapy services to inpatient and outpatient populations in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams. This role plans, implements, and evaluates therapeutic interventions to maximize patient functional efficiency and support optimal outcomes across the continuum of care. The Senior OT demonstrates advanced clinical competency in at least one specialty area and maintains a strong level of proficiency in administrative and supervisory functions. This role oversees and administers service delivery within assigned specialty areas, supports clinical decision-making, and serves as a subject-matter resource within the department. The Senior Occupational Therapist is responsible for the comprehensive treatment of all patients appropriately referred to the Occupational Therapy Department at Grady Health System. The role includes coordination with physicians, initiation of appropriate referrals, monitoring and screening consults within the area of responsibility, and delivering age-appropriate care that addresses patients' physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs across the lifespan.
Required Qualifications
Master's Degree from an Occupational Therapy program accredited by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) or the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) Licensed or license-eligible as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Georgia (must secure Georgia license by employment start date) Minimum of four (4) years of clinical occupational therapy experience At least one (1) year of experience in a teaching hospital or academic medical center Clearly defined area of clinical expertise demonstrated through advanced professional experience and/or additional certification American Heart Association (AHA) CPR / Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
