Position Summary

As an intern, you will gain valuable Human Resources experience while supporting our Aerospace Group as a member of our HR team. You will provide specialized expertise on one or more human resource initiatives and assist in generalist responsibilities for our team. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to assist with organizational development and change initiatives that support key business objectives. The internship will last approximately 10 weeks.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day HR functions including onboarding, record keeping/auditing, HRIS administration, reporting, and employee relations, where applicable.
  • Assist in creating and improving HR processes, documentation, and digital records.
  • Participates in the hiring and selection process. May support sourcing and screening applicants, coordinating interviews, and maintaining applicant tracking systems.
  • Collaborate on team member recognition, community outreach, and engagement events.
  • Supports the understanding and consistent application of company policies, procedures, and practices through training and one-on-one communication.
  • Reviews and monitors assigned personnel actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legislation. Observes and promotes adherence to all ethical standards.
  • Provides various statistical analysis to evaluate or support decisions. Compiles data and prepares reports for department, division, or group, and to meet applicable government reporting requirements.

Qualifications

  • Completion of two years of bachelor's degree coursework in business administration, human resources, management, psychology, or other related discipline. Must be enrolled in third or fourth year of college degree program. Limited or no prior professional experience is required.
  • Knowledge of basic business and human resources principles, concepts, laws and practices.
  • Basic understanding of continuous improvement techniques and methods. Ability to identify and define problems, research and analyze data and independently develop recommendations.
  • Ability to use standard business application software and HRIS software including Microsoft Word, Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business or professional journals, or government regulations.
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with different stakeholders.
  • Good organizational and time management skills; able to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Able to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
  • This is an in-person opportunity. Must ensure reliable transportation into the Irvine, CA office.

Competitive Compensation:

Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location, as well as market and business considerations.

  • Pay Range: $19.00/hr to $23.00/hr
  • No benefit plan eligibility.
  • Eligible for Paid Sick Leave in accordance with state requirements.
