Responsibilities

  • 1. GENERAL ? Answers telephone consistent with the values outlined in our Mission statement. ? Answers calls and greets visitors in a professional, kind, courteous manner. ? Assists various departments with secretarial duties as designated. ? Routine secretarial duties, such as typing, computer input, filing, copying and faxing. ? Works primarily afternoon and evenings. ? Monitors visitor traffic for security purposes. ? Assures doors are locked when required. ? May transcribe routine information into and out of records, such as B/P, weights and heights, etc.. ? Updates CNA assignments as changes occur and assures units have sufficient number of copies. ? Prepares W10 and arranges for sitter and transportation as needed. ? Covers other secretaries as needed ? Provide clothing labels if requested ? Sorts and delivers mail mail daily. ? Files all medial record data in charts as needed. ? Makes calls for staffing needs as requested. ? Reports to work in the designated uniform, neat appearance. ? Completes other duties as assigned
  • 2. ADMISSIONS AND DISCHARGES ?Alerts all departments to the arrival of the new or returning resident. ?Label charts, doors, furniture, name band placement, resident pictures. Copy admission/re-admission packets and deliver ? As delegated gathers records from charts, drawers and medication room and put in order. Remove all papers from chart and place in envelope after checking with nurse. Bring entire record to Medical Records. Remove all labels from room.
  • 3. Scheduling: Day Receptionist will prepare schedules for the nursing department. Complete daily breakdown sheets. Review and approve/deny PTO time. Manage staff switches and overtime . Call staff when there are open shifts to fill. Work with the DNS with regards to completing and managing the schedule
  • 4. Scheduling: Off shift receptionist will take direction from the day receptionist to assist with calling staff to fill open shifts or replacing call outs.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

High school diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE

6 months experience preferred
