PSI supports the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC), Command & Control (C2) Mission Systems (C2MS) task order focused on delivery excellence, cost/schedule fidelity, and mission outcomes. We are seeking a motivated C2MS Configuration Manager SkillBridge Intern to support configuration identification, control, audits, and status accounting within a complex Air Force command-and-control environment. The intern will work alongside experienced engineers and program staff to ensure discipline, traceability, and documentation of C2MS products and changes throughout the lifecycle. This position is ideal for transitioning service members with experience in IT, cyber operations, systems administration, maintenance, satellite communications, or similar technical fields. The SkillBridge intern will gain hands-on experience in configuration management, system lifecycle support, operational baselines, and enterprise-level C2 operations.
Position Type: DoD SkillBridge (Fellowship/Internship) - Fulltime, Temporary (Unpaid per DoD policy)
- Duration: 90-180 days (preferred 120-180 days; target dates flexible based on command approval and candidate availability)
- Location: Onsite/Hybrid (CONUS) Hurlburt Field/Valparaiso FL Innovation Facility
Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities
- Assist with configuration identification, including managing and organizing configuration items (CIs), documentation baselines, and version control.
- Support change management activities, including preparing change requests, participating in technical reviews, and updating configuration documentation.
- Maintain configuration status accounting records, tracking changes across multiple systems and environments.
- Help coordinate Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings: agenda preparation, minutes, and action tracking.
- Work with engineering, cybersecurity, and operations teams to maintain system integrity and compliance.
- Assist with audits and inspections to ensure configuration compliance with Air Force and contract standards.
- Learn and apply CM tools and processes such as Git, SharePoint, Jira, Confluence, or military/contractspecific equivalents.
- Perform documentation, artifact management, and quality assurance tasks within system engineering processes.
Minimum Requirements
- Eligibility: Currently serving U.S. Service Member eligible for DoD SkillBridge (command approval required).
- Experience:
- Background in IT, operations, system administration, communications, avionics, cyber, or related military specialty.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes.
- Familiarity with Air Force environments, maintenance processes, or C2 operations (preferred but not required).
- Basic understanding of system lifecycle, configuration control, or technical documentation.
- Clearance: Active T3 investigation, with the ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances as required for access to classified information.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with CM tools (e.g., Git, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint).
- Prior exposure to C2MS, theater C2 systems, AOC weapon system, or similar mission systems.
- Understanding of RMF, STIGs, or cybersecurity principles.

- This is an unpaid DoD SkillBridge opportunity for qualifying transitioning Service Members.
- Participants remain on active-duty orders and continue to receive military pay/benefits from their Service during the fellowship.
