Position SummaryThe Division of Critical Care at the University of
New Mexico School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, is seeking a Pediatric
Intensivist to join the clinical team. Salary and track will be
commensurate with training and experience. This full-time position offers a competitive salary, and a rich
retirement benefit program.

The position includes patient
care responsibilities in a state of the art, 20 bed multi-disciplinary
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Other duties include teaching residents and
medical students, a pediatric sedation service, and pediatric/neonatal ECMO.
The Department of Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care Division have a long
tradition of providing outstanding, comprehensive care to the children of New
Mexico.

Situated along the beautiful Sandia Mountains and traversed by the Rio Grande,
Albuquerque is New Mexico's largest city, with a growing population in the
greater metropolitan area now exceeding 900,000. Albuquerque is a four-season city with
elevation ranging from 4900-10,300 feet, and enjoys year-round sunshine and a moderate
climate. The city is famous for its diverse cultures, New Mexican cuisine,
unique architecture, and proximity to unlimited outdoor activities such as
hiking, biking, snow skiing/boarding, fishing, and golfing. New Mexico's great natural beauty and rich
cultures have earned the designation "Land of Enchantment."
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Able to obtain medical licensure(s) in the state of New Mexico.
  • Board certified/Board Eligible in Pediatric Critical Care by time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience and interest in quality improvement, research and teaching.
  • Experience with ECMO.
  • Experience with care of the pediatric surgical and trauma patient.
  • A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities
