Requisition ID req35826 Working Title Speech-Lang Pathologist Position Grade 14 Position Summary The Center for Development and Disability (CDD), established in 1990, is New Mexico's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service. These centers, authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, build the capacities of states and communities to respond to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. We are seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to be part of an interdisciplinary team providing developmental and diagnostic evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults. This position requires experience in the evaluation and treatment of autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities, familiarity with state systems of care. Effective oral and written communications skills are required to share evaluation findings and recommendations to families and other providers. The position requires knowledge and experience with standard evaluation methods as well as informal assessment for language, speech, and social communication. The position also provides opportunities for clinical instruction and supervision, training, and consultation. This position requires some in-state travel. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Speech Pathology or an equivalent discipline; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Preferred Qualifications ***Address in your cover letter how your experience and skills align with our preferred qualifications.*** Experience conducting speech language evaluations for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. Experience functioning on an interdisciplinary team to provide differential diagnoses and/or intervention for children, youth or adults. Knowledge of and experience with evidence-based interventions for autism spectrum disorder and other communication disorders. Knowledge and experience with parent/caregiver mediated and naturalistic interventions increase functional and social communication. Bilingual - oral and written Spanish/English skills in clinical or educational setting. Additional Requirements Passing a background check and fingerprinting is required for this position. Some traveling within NM is required.
