Responsibilities

Located on a 27-acre wooded campus, Fairmount Behavioral Health System is a peaceful, therapeutic environment for patients and families. Fairmount is a major regional resource for children, adolescents and adults who have psychiatric and behavioral problems as well as alcohol and drug dependency needs. The spacious campus borders Fairmount Park in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia. With one of the leading alcohol and drug detox and rehab programs in Philadelphia, Fairmount is the provider of choice for individuals requiring specialized co-occurring psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment. We are currently seeking a Fulltime Creative Arts Therapist to join our team.

Creative Arts Therapist is responsible for assessing patients' leisure and recreational activities, providing age and developmentally appropriate therapy groupsusing a combination of activities,creative arts modalities,and talk therapy,helping patients develop safety/crisis plans,and establishing behavioral treatment goals in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Fairmount Behavioral Health System.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able todemonstratecompetency in the criteria listed in this job description.The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet theminimumrequirements for this position.Staff mustdemonstrateflexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations including children, adolescents, and adults.

  • Education: Master's degreeinCounseling and/or related field with specialization in a creative arts/allied therapy modality (i.e. art, music, movement, recreation, occupational therapy)
  • Experience: One (1) year prior experiencein Behavioral health field working withpeople in recovery from mental health disorderspreferred
  • Licensure/Certification:PA professional licensepreferred but not required.Possesses current registration, certification, or licensurein accordance withstate and/or national boardstandards of specific fieldof a creative arts/allied therapy/counselingpreferred (i.e. art, music, movement, recreation, occupational therapy)
