Advanced Practice Provider BHMG MED Pulmonary

SUMMARY:

Provides comprehensive, team-based care to patients admitted to the Rhode Island Hospital Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU).

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive, team-based care to patients admitted to the Rhode Island Hospital Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU).

• Responsible for admission H & Ps, daily progress notes, orders, procedures (and all matters of direct patient care).

• Works under the direct supervision of the attending physicians from the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, as well as the Critical Care Fellows and Pulmonary/Critical Care Fellows from RIH and TMH, while on duty in the MICU and PCCSM consults including critical care triage.

• Work along with interns or residents from the Brown University Internal Medicine Residency Program to coordinate care.

• Responsible for ensuring good communication with patient's primary care team/provider throughout our services.

• Work within and be responsible to the Division Director, Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine.

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives as determined by the Division Director of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine.

• Other duties as assigned by Division Director.

EDUCATION:

• Graduation from an accredited NP/PA program

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

• RI licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is required.

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

• Critical Care experience a plus.

• Experience with EMR (Epic) preferred.
