Yoh has an immediate, 18 month contract opportunity, as an Lab Technician II- 1st Shift within the Life Sciences / Biotechnology industry to jour client, Onsite, to report to their office in Hazelwood, MO $22-23/hr. on a W2 Mon-Friday 8AM-5PM (some flexibility on hours) The Lab Support Temp will help the department learn and evaluate new or updated tests and products. They will support existing products through timely testing and investigations and assist with routine project tasks, occasionally contributing to more complex industrialization work. All activities must be completed in full compliance with current quality and safety standards. What You Will Be Doing Handle microbiological cultures (bacteria and yeast) using proper safety and aseptic techniques. Identify mixed cultures and escalate issues to appropriate personnel. Fulfill culturing requests from the Industrialization team. Support projects with routine lab tasks (e.g., opening card pouches, labeling cards). Perform microbial testing using the VITEK 2 instrument. Generate, review, and communicate VITEK 2 results or issues to senior staff. Monitor instrumentation to ensure proper function. Maintain accurate internal documentation following SOPs and GDP standards. Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures. Maintain a safe lab environment and wear PPE appropriately for most of the day. Contribute to continuous process improvements. Participate in team-based lab upkeep. Coordinate and prioritize daily work independently. Who You Are Bachelor's degree required (life sciences/biology/molecular biology/biochemistry or related field). Minimum 2 years' experience working in a lab environment, graduate work would be considered Understanding of aseptic technique; experience working with microorganisms preferred. Familiarity with lab safety, GLP, GDP, and standard lab equipment. Ability to learn and perform new lab techniques. Strong analytical thinking and problem?solving skills. Ability to work independently and within cross?functional teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills.
