| Position Purpose |
Reporting to the Director of Programming Initiatives, this position is responsible for the execution and management of an inspired, educational and enhanced film program. This role manages all campus and community-facing film programs and activities produced by the Hopkins Center in addition to the administration of all activities associated with Hopkins Center Film & Media. |

- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in education and experience.
- Three years of administrative experience in an arts-related setting.
- Significant experience working with the public in a communications and production capacity.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- In-depth knowledge and/or strong interest in the art of film.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to work closely with students, faculty, the public and other Dartmouth College employees.
-Organizational, administrative, fiscal management and business-related skills.
- Working knowledge of Mac/ Windows, Microsoft Office, database applications.
- Familiarity with film-related systems (video editing,
DCP, etc.) preferred.
- Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse community.
- Demonstrated ability to work respectfully and effectively with all constituencies in a diverse institution. |
| Preferred Qualifications |
- Filmmaking/editing experience.
- Familiarity with Digital Cinema and/or 35mm film projection.
- Supervisory experience. |

| Description |
Program Development/Management
The Film & Media Program Manager collaborates in developing current and future program content as well as planning/initiatives and goals of the Hop Film & Media program. In addition to supporting the strategic planning, this position executes all logistics as they relate to film screenings including-but not limited to-booking, marketing, payment and guest coordination. Coordinates and manages ancillary events related to the films. Oversees the Dartmouth Film Society and works to ensure the group continues to thrive. |

| Description |
Presentation Management/Technical Direction
Tracks the arrival of and ingests film content and keys into the server each week, and ships films out afterward. May support events showcasing other media, including video installations and audio experiences. Trains and supervises the student projectionist staff and helps with troubleshooting as needed. Serves as projectionist for shows with live guests (especially hybrid shows). Maintains the digital cinema equipment. |

| Description |
Marketing/Outreach
Assists the Director of Programming Initiatives with writing copy for print marketing efforts and gathering or creating other promotional assets. Working closely with Marketing, this position assists in the development of a strategic marketing/publicity plan for all Hop Film & Media presentations, specifically campus constituents. Oversees the Hop Film Fellow and Dartmouth Film Society director in their outreach to faculty and student groups to build audiences for each film. |

| Description |
Finance/Administration/Supervisory
Participates in budget development and monitors program sales and attendance. Execute payments to vendors, film distributors, other suppliers and College partners. Produces and maintains foundational planning schedule as well as systems for tracking films, sales, marketing schedule and related materials including but not limited to the Hopkins Center cloud-based collaborative software. Coordinates with Hop Company Manager on logistics related to live guests for films, including booking travel, hotel, and itineraries, and processes honoraria payments. Serves as the department representative in the absence of the Director of Programming Initiatives at events. Supervises temporary employees, student fellows and the Dartmouth Film Society and works closely with the projectionist staff regarding training, supplies and equipment. |
