Tulsa, OK - E. 56th St. - Retail shop How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? Airgas is hiring a Hazmat and Tanker Local Bulk Driver in Tulsa, OK.

Our modern, efficient fleet (most vehicles under 6 years old) is equipped with driver-friendly technology, including On-Board Computers, collision avoidance, and GPS navigation. This role typically involves a local schedule with an average of two layovers per month, provided with advanced notice.

As the "face of Airgas," the Microbulk Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting bulk liquid gases between pickup terminals and customers, both internal and external. This position safely loads, delivers, unloads, and returns using a company-provided truck, filling pressurized bulk liquid gases at the customer's location while interacting with Airgas customers and associates.

We are looking for you

  • Full-time consistent scheduling

  • Pay begins at $29/hour based on experience.

  • Monday through Friday, with possible alternating weekends on call in case of business needs.

In particular you will:

  • Specialized Delivery & Physical Maneuvering: Safely operate a Class A vehicle to load and deliver pressurized gases; requires the physical stamina to frequently climb, bend, and kneel while handling high-pressure hoses and equipment in all weather conditions.

  • Technical Compliance & PPE: Execute all deliveries in strict accordance with DOT, OSHA, and Airgas SAFECOR policies, consistently utilizing specialized Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for handling cryogenic liquids.

  • Customer Site Management: Serve as the "Face of Airgas" by maintaining customer gas levels and resolving service inquiries, which involves walking and standing for extended periods to monitor equipment performance and site safety.

  • Safety Inspections & Equipment Maintenance: Perform rigorous pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and customer tank audits to ensure all hardware is operating safely; includes the ability to lift or move up to 50-100 lbs regularly.

  • Digital Documentation & Route Efficiency: Accurately utilize On-Board Computers to manage manifests and shipping documents, providing data-driven feedback to management to improve route timing and delivery sequences.

  • Versatile Operational Support: Maintain a clean vehicle and professional appearance while supporting warehouse and dock operations, including the proficient use of forklifts and pallet jacks as needed.

  • Licensing & Experience: Valid Class A CDL with Tanker, Hazmat, and Airbrake endorsements, a current Medical Examiner's Card, and a minimum of two years verifiable of Class A driving experience with a clean MVR.

  • Environmental Adaptability: Ability to drive hazardous cargo for up to 12 hours and work outdoors in extreme temperatures ranging from -10F to 110F

  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to read and comprehend Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and utilize digital logging systems to maintain accurate safety documentation.

Preferred Expertise: Prior experience with tractor-tanker combinations, handling compressed gases or cryogenic liquids, and a background in customer service or sales is highly valued.
