The Surveying and Geomatics Business Unit is seeking an Office Survey Technician in Washington or Idaho to support transportation, DOT, and infrastructure-focused projects. This role will contribute to the development, processing, and integration of survey data within Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD), Civil 3D, and Trimble Business Center (TBC) environments.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in survey data processing, terrain modeling, and cross-platform workflows supporting roadway and large-scale infrastructure projects.

What You'll Do Key Responsibilities:
  • Process and adjust GNSS, total station, and LiDAR survey data using Trimble Business Center (TBC).
  • Develop and manage existing ground terrain models and survey datasets within Civil 3D and Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD).
  • Prepare topographic surfaces, breaklines, and feature models to support roadway, corridor, and alternative energy projects.
  • Integrate survey data into DOT-compliant ORD environments and coordinate with roadway design teams.
  • Perform coordinate geometry (COGO) calculations, boundary analysis, and survey computations as required.
  • Support right-of-way, topographic, and construction survey deliverables for public agency clients.
  • Prepare survey exhibits, plats, and legal descriptions when required.
  • Participate in QA/QC reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project and DOT standards.
  • Collaborate with Survey Managers and Project Surveyors to support multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
What You Bring Required Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD) modeling environments.
  • Experience processing survey data using Trimble Business Center (TBC).
  • Demonstrated experience developing terrain models, surfaces, and survey deliverables for transportation or infrastructure projects.
  • Minimum 6 years of survey field and/or office experience.
  • Strong understanding of coordinate systems, control networks, and survey data workflows.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and roadway plans.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • LSIT certification.
  • Experience working on DOT or public agency transportation projects.
  • Experience with point cloud data and feature extraction workflows.
  • Familiarity with Bentley or DOT workspace standards.
