Summary
The Senior ERP Technical Lead will collaborate with the Director of Administrative Information Systems to oversee the technical administration, upgrades, tuning, and implementation of software across the Enterprise Resource Planning ( ERP) platform. This role will serve as the technical authority on the ERP platform and provide guidance on implementation and integration to the software supported by the administrative information systems department.
Essential Role Responsibilities
ERP Leadership and System Optimization

  • Act as the lead technical authority for the college's ERP system, guiding ERP team and stakeholders to optimize system performance and align with strategic objectives at the oversight of the departmental director.
  • Lead medium-to-large ERP projects, including implementations, upgrades, master data migrations, and customizations, ensuring seamless integration and operational success.
  • Leverage advanced tools such as SQL, SAP databases, and ERP development tools to develop SaaS compliant solutions, automate workflows, and deliver actionable insights.
  • Design and implement API integrations between the ERP and third-party systems, ensuring seamless interoperability and enhanced system functionality.


Strategic Planning and Process Improvement

  • Analyze and refine business processes, identifying opportunities to leverage ERP capabilities for increased efficiency, accuracy, and data integrity.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to design and implement an inventory classification system for college software systems.
  • Translate complex business needs into actionable technical requirements, aligning ERP solutions with organizational goals and priorities.
  • Develop innovative solutions to address technical challenges and implement system enhancements that support operational excellence.

Change Management and Collaboration

  • Act as a change leader, driving ERP adoption through process improvements, user-friendly solutions, and comprehensive training programs.
  • Support other ERP team members on best practices in system development, API integration, and advanced parameter setup to increase consistent and high-quality outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, presenting technical strategies, updates, and project outcomes effectively.

System Maintenance and Licensing
  • Proactively maintain and monitor ERP systems, addressing potential issues to minimize downtime and maximize reliability.
Innovation and Strategic Impact

  • Remain at the forefront of emerging ERP trends, advanced development tools, and cutting-edge coding practices, integrating innovative solutions that enhance system functionality and drive business outcomes.
  • Use the ERP system to support data-driven decision-making, strategic growth, and operational excellence, ensuring system capabilities evolve with organizational needs.

Minimum Education Required Bachelor's degree
Experience Required 8
Preferred Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or a related field with 8-12 years of experience. Master's degree in technical or related field with 6-10 years of experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in Ellucian Colleague, CRM Advise, and CRM Recruit.
  • Demonstrates a knowledge of computing, telecommunications, networking, security and information technology.


* Demonstrated ability to manage medium-to-large-scale ERP projects, aligning technical solutions with organizational goals and delivering measurable results.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
* Experience in higher education required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise resource planning systems, including implementation, upgrades, and integrations.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively within a large diverse organization of professionals and customers.
  • Leadership skills with a focus on team development, motivation, and performance management.
  • Has the ability and experience with managing complex technology systems and applications.
  • Has excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

* Has the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
* Regular attendance is a requirement of this job.
  • Performs all duties while considering the impact of any actions on the college's sustainability initiatives in the areas of environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and economic prosperity.
Physical Demand Summary
Fast-paced, deadline-driven, office working environment. Concurrent management of numerous tasks, some with conflicting priorities. Flexibility required.

Howard Community College offers competitive salaries, excellent medical and dental selections, tuition reimbursement and paid leave programs. As a participating member of the Maryland Retirement and Pension System, HCC offers two retirement options: The Pension, which requires a 7% employee contribution and The ORP, a 403(b) with a 7.25% employer contribution only. Employees in positions that do not require a bachelor's degree must participate in The Pension. Employees that possess a bachelor's degree and hold professional positions that require a bachelor's degree may choose to participate in either The Pension or The ORP.
