Our Gridtern Program provides current college students the ability to gain practical experience within the energy industry. Your summer will begin on Monday, June 15, 2026, and will be filled with meaningful work experiences, professional development, networking opportunities, community involvement, and most importantly, have fun!

What You'll Do

Our Social Impact team advances our organizations community engagement and investment efforts through a focused strategy centered on energy affordability, jobs and skills, and community resilience. This team partners with nonprofit organizations, community leaders, and internal stakeholders to design and fund initiatives that support households in need, build pathways to quality jobs, and strengthen communities facing social and economic challenges. Through strategic grantmaking, volunteerism, and crosssector collaboration, this team aligns resources with priority outcomes across these pillars. Impact is measured and reported consistently to ensure accountability and longterm value for the communities we serve.

As a Gridtern, you will support the team's work across energy affordability, jobs, skills, and community resilience by assisting with research, program coordination, and partner engagement. You will also help track grants, events, and volunteer activities, and will support impact measurement through data collection, storytelling, and reporting. As you collaborate with team members on community initiatives, presentations, and internal communications, you will be provided with handson exposure on how corporate social impact strategies are developed, implemented, and evaluated.

While the preferred location for this role is Brooklyn, NY, the position is also available in Waltham, MA. You must also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to your assigned primary office.

What You'll Need
  • Availability to start on the program start date, June 15, 2026, and work full-time (40 hours a week) for the duration of the summer
  • Must be registered as a full-time student and continue your education full-time through the Fall 2026 semester
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Public Affairs, Economic Development, Environmental Studies, Liberal Arts, English/ELA, Education, Nonprofit Management or related majors
  • Have accumulated 18 or more credits and be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (including CPT & OPT)

Salary Range

Brooklyn, NY: $21.00 - $33.00 an hour
Waltham, MA: $20.00 - $32.00 an hour

Candidates will be assessed and provided offers based on major, degree type, and class year. Our Gridtern Program does not offer relocation, housing assistance, or public transportation reimbursement for Gridterns; however, we can provide a list of resources to utilize in making your arrangements.

Please note that as a Gridtern, you must reside within our existing footprint, which includes Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, and Vermont. You must also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to your assigned primary office.
