Location: Remote PositionPay Range: $77,833.60 - $152,796.80 This position is a remote Work from Home role with 25-50% travel expectations around the United States. Position SummaryThe Nurse Manager is responsible for supporting the Associate Director of Pharmacy Services in the management and operations of AON Pharmacy's Clinical Nurse Team that supports patients receiving oral specialty medications. This role combines clinical leadership, operational oversight, and strategic collaboration to ensure optimal patient outcomes, medication adherence, toxicity management, regulatory compliance, and efficient pharmacy workflows. This also includes the maintenance of relevant policies and procedures, supervision and training of staff, implementation of clinical initiatives and projects, clear bagging initiatives and quality assurance. This position will include travel to new practices for clinic evaluation and onboarding. Demonstrates working knowledge of all facets of role, relevant regulations, and organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Performs other duties and projects as assigned. Performs all duties in accordance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures. Key Performance AreasKPA 1 - Clinical Leadership and Oversight * Oversee nursing-led patient support programs for oncology patients, including assessments, ongoing monitoring, comprehensive education on cancer disease states, oral and injectable oncolytic therapies, immunotherapy, targeted agents, other specialty disease therapies and associated medications. * Ensure nursing activities align with evidence-based practices, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements * Monitor patient outcomes related to oncology medication therapy, adverse effects/toxicities, adherence, and quality of life; implement interventions, escalation protocols, and quality improvement initiatives (e.g., adherence tracking, toxicity reporting, patient-reported outcomes). * Support dose adjustments, therapy changes, and care coordination in collaboration with pharmacists and providers. KPA 2 - Operational & Workflow Management * Develop, implement, and optimize nursing workflows that integrate with oral specialty pharmacy operations. * Ensure timely completion of nursing interventions, documentation, and follow-ups in the EMR and pharmacy systems. * Partner with pharmacy leadership to support prescription intake, clear bagging workflows, prior authorizations, REMS, and care coordination. * Monitor turnaround times, productivity, and service-level expectations for nursing teams. KPA 3 - Compliance & Quality Assurance * Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and accreditation standards (e.g., URAC, ACHC, state pharmacy boards, state nursing boards, HIPAA, OSHA, USP <800> for hazardous drugs). * Develop, implement, and update policies, procedures, and clinical protocols specific to oncology and rheumatology specialty pharmacy services, including toxicity management and adherence programs. * Participate in quality assurance, risk management, and performance improvement activities, including data tracking and reporting on key metrics (e.g., adherence rates, time to therapy initiation, hospitalization/readmission prevention, patient satisfaction, adverse event reporting) to identify trends, risks, or gaps in care and implement corrective actions. KPA 4 - Team Leadership & Staff Management * Recruit, hire, onboard, train, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff. * Develop staffing schedules, assign duties, and manage performance, including performance reviews, coaching, disciplinary actions, and professional development plans. * Promote a positive, collaborative work environment and serve as a role model for clinical excellence and patient advocacy, with emphasis on accountability and continuous improvement. * Serve as an escalation point for clinical questions, complex cases, and workflow concerns. KPA 5 - Reporting & Metrics * Track and analyze nursing-related metrics, including productivity, clinical interventions, patient outcomes, and quality indicators. * Prepare reports and presentations for leadership as requested. * Use data to drive workflow improvements and support operational decision-making. KPA 6 - Cross-Functional Collaboration * Act as a liaison between nursing, pharmacy, providers, payer teams, and internal departments. * Support provider communication through EMR triage, clinical interventions, and documentation. * Collaborate with finance, access, and pharmacy leadership on reimbursement-related clinical workflows. * Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, committees, and initiatives as needed. * Travel to new practices for onboarding, assess current clinic practices, provide and participate in go-live training at the clinic site.
