Working for our team, you can truly make a difference. The Make Ready Plate Mounter completes all operations from supplied negative to press ready plates. Works with all plate equipment to produce plates as required. Trims, mounts, and proofs printing plates as necessary to print scheduled factory orders. Mounts and proofs plates for multi color jobs and close registration work with minimal supervision. Works closely with press department on any mounting issues. Responsibilities: * Inspects press-ready plates. * Cleans plates and cylinders for eventual reuse. * Checks concentricity, bearings, and maintains surface of printing cylinders in good condition. * Performs make-ready on plates when necessary to attain required quality level. * Proofs close register work on mounter/proofer. * Maintains cooperative attitude with coworkers and supervisors. * Functions in various pressroom support duties. * Maintains inventory of all plate mounting tapes used. * Maintains a log that documents all plate remounts. * Retains bad plates and forwards them to supervisor for evaluation. Qualifications: * High school education or equivalent. * Reading, writing, and basic arithmetic skills required. * Good problem and communication skills. * Ability to use micrometer and other simple measuring tools. * Correct visual acuity. * Ability to lift 40 lbs. occasionally. * Ability to work in a combined office and manufacturing environment. Safety equipment required. The physical demands require standing, using hands to finger, feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. This position requires frequent walking. Occasionally employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision requirements are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment. Positive attitude, team player and ability to work overtime as required.
